1. South Western Sri Lanka

Confusingly Sri Lanka’s southwest and northeast coasts have different dry and rainy seasons. The good thing is no matter when you visit, you are bound to catch one half of the island at its best. But if you want to dodge the rainy season completely you should visit the South Western part of Sri Lanka in February when it’s the dry season.

2. Rajasthan, India

February marks the end of the winter season in India and it’s a pleasant climatic time to explore the country before the heat really begins to increase. 3. Zanzibar, Tanzania

If you live in the northern hemisphere you might be wondering where is hot in February? Tanzania is the answer! 

Head to the national parks of Tanzania in February and you may have the chance to witness when the wildlife have their young.  Mid-February is calving season. Furthermore, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater are rich in flora for the herds to provide their young with. There are also countless opportunities to spot the big five on safari drives through the nature reserves. To top it off, you get to relax on white beaches for a couple of days before heading home.

4. Cambodia

Cambodia has fairly stable temperatures all year round, mostly around 30 degrees Celsius, rarely dropping below 20 degrees Celsius. The majority of visitors choose to travel to Cambodia from November to March when its the dry season. February experiences “cooler” weather around 27 degrees Celsius, making it the perfect time to explore temples and cities.

5. Singapore

Being so close to the equator Singapore, similar to Cambodia, is an all year round destination. You will find slightly less rain from February to April which makes Singapore one of the best places to go in February. The culture in Singapore is very different from the rest of southeast Asia and its modern identity won’t  fail to amaze its visitors. Admire the Gardens of the Bay after dark, explore the different neighbourhoods and visit the magnificent Marina Bay Sands platform for the best views of Singapore.

6. Rio Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

A party that needs no introduction: Rio Carnival. An annual world celebration, Rio de Janeiro becomes a flood of colour, music and dance as the streets come alive in a whirlwind of samba festivities.  From the 21st-26th February 2020 you can party in true Brazilian style and cheer on the parade as dancers shimmy down the Sambadrome competing for the win. Of course it’s a no brainer that Rio de Janeiro is one of the best places to visit in February.

February is slowly marking the end of summer in Argentina and it’s an excellent time to visit the wine region Mendoza with average temperatures ranging from 20 to 27 degrees Celcius degrees. 8. Belize & Guatemala

Central America is the ultimate destination for your February holiday as it’s the dry season and warm in most countries. Belize and Guatemala are no exception, dry season, warm weather and clear skies are the norm in February. 10. Colombia

Colombia is one of the best places to go in February and it’s certainly a hot country to visit. It’s still high season in Colombia and you can make the most of the colourful culture and Caribbean coastline. Wander along the cobbled streets of colonial Cartagena stopping under the romantic balconies adorned with flowers and marvel at the rainbow colour buildings. After trekking through the jungles at Tayrona National Park, reward yourself with a fresh coconut juice on the beach and swing on hammocks as the sun goes down.
