Why Book an Escorted Tour with Tucan Travel?

Small Tour Groups
Our group sizes vary depending on the destination and type of tour, however on average you should expect between 10 to 14 people. Smaller groups mean more personal experiences, learning names and bonding over local dinners, finding those with similar interests and booking excursions together. With less people in a group we are also able to book smaller hotels, get tables in some of the best local restaurants and hop on local transport to travel between destinations.

Experienced Tour Leaders
Our tour leaders are there to take care of all the logistics surrounding your tour, meaning you can sit back, relax and enjoy the various activities on offer. Tour leaders are available 24/7 for the whole duration of your trip to assist with local knowledge, recommendations or any general queries you may have, giving you the peace of mind that you need in a new country. On top of that, all our tour leaders in Latin America are Spanish speaking so that travelling through areas with little or no English is a seamless experience for your escorted tour.

Local Knowledge
Our itineraries are designed by industry experts who know these destinations like the back of their hand. We make sure to include some of the highlights of a destination while leaving plenty of free time for you to decide what other points of interest you want to explore. We opt for accommodation close to restaurants, tourist attractions or local transport so that getting around isn’t a worry either!

Authentic Experiences
As an adventure tour specialist, we work hard to provide a truly authentic experience. We are proud to maintain ongoing relationships with our accommodation, transport suppliers and our local guides. We take extra care to make sure we are supporting the local businesses and communities in a sustainable and ethical way. To make the trip as authentic as possible, we predominantly use local, family run hotels and lodges and always recommend smaller, locally owned shops, markets and restaurants along the way.
Solo Travel & Escorted Tours
Have you ever found yourself in the position where none of your friends or family members are available for a holiday at the same time as you? Or do you dream of the idea of travelling solo and having no responsibilities except for yourself? Travelling solo can be one of the most exciting and empowering experiences and will always be something we recommend trying at least once. The beauty of escorted group tours is that while you get to travel solo, you will never travel alone. Do you love local coffee culture and rejoice at the idea of cafe hopping through Vienna? Enjoy it solo before meeting up with your group for a relaxing meal come evening. Escorted tours can offer you the best of both worlds as you experience the ultimate flexibility to spend time with your group or solo, depending on the memories you want to create.

Why you should travel solo on a tour at least once
Mexico has enchanted me ever since I read about the ancient civilisation of the Maya in history in secondary school. Such a fusion of cultures! The second biggest country in Latin America & so much more than sombreros & tequila! I succumbed to the magnetic pull in March this year & I can honestly say it is an adventure that has altered me. How can you capture the essence & soul of such a charming country & life-changing holiday?

9 top tips for solo travel in Europe
For some, solo travel in Europe sounds intimidating, daunting and a little scary. But overcome those feelings, and you could have the most empowering experience of your life. Don’t be put off by thinking you’ll be lonely or worrying you’ll get lost. These are all things that you can overcome with a little extra planning.
Think, you can do whatever YOU want to do. No compromising your bike ride in Amsterdam because your friends want to visit the Van Gogh museum. No debating over whether to eat street food or dine at a restaurant in France. And no more arguing about choosing cheap train seats over luxury ones when travelling from Germany to Austria. Everything is your choice.
